5 steps for eyeglass frame injection molding production

The process of plastic eyeglasses frame injection molding machine mainly includes the following steps:
1. Preparation stage: Select the shape size and accessories of the plastic eyeglasses frames you want to produce, determine whether it is a monochromatic product or a mixed-color product in terms of the color of the material, and start designing the molds according to the target of the output.
2. Plasticizing stage: The raw material of the configured plastic eyeglass frames will be dried and adjusted for color matching, and then put into the injection unit of the injection molding machine to start heating and plasticizing.
3Charging and setting parameters: Put the pre-prepared plastic granules into the feeding port of the injection molding machine and set the relevant parameters, such as temperature, pressure, injection speed and so on. The setting of these parameters needs to be adjusted according to the size and structure of the specific product to ensure the shrinkage rate and dimensional accuracy of the product.
4.Heating and melting: Start the injection molding machine to heat the mold and resin particles to reach the molten state. Normally, the temperature of the injection molding machine will gradually increase until it reaches the set melting point.
5.Injection Molding: When the resin particles are completely melted, they are injection molded through the mold. The injection molding process includes the steps of nozzle advancement, injection, pressure holding, pre-molding, backward shrinkage, nozzle retreat, cooling, mold opening, and ejection. During this process, the various systems of the injection molding machine (e.g., control keypad, electrical control system, and hydraulic system) work in concert to ensure that the molding process runs smoothly.

Step 1: Material charging

Raw materials enter the heating unit of the machine through the hopper: screw and barrel. In the middle of the barrel is a rotating screw. The rotation of the screw will push the material forward. And the screw moves backwards while rotating. The screw gradually rotates backward to push the eyeglass material forward. During the process of advancement, frame particles are melted and finally pushed into the front end of the material barrel.

Step 2: Injection

Once the front end of the material barrel is filled with enough eyeglass frame raw material, the screw stops pre molding and is pushed forward by the hydraulic cylinder at the back to quickly squeeze the melted raw material at the front end, forcing the melted frame material to enter the mold through the nozzle, gate, and runner. The screw must be pushed with sufficient pressure to allow the melt to enter the mold from the nozzle. The raw materials must be filled with sufficient pressure to fill every gap in the mold.

Step 3: Pressure hold

This pressure can be maintained to ensure shape retention during sunglass frame cooling.

Step 4： Cooling

Cooling is achieved by passing the cooling fluid through the channels around the mold. This can be water or other coolant. Once cooled, the product will spray out. Duirng cooling, the machine will use the cooling time to charge the material, so that we can shoter the cycle time.

Step 5: Demold & ejection

The mold opens, and  the eyeglass frame will be ejecte down from mold automatically.
