Transport and Installation of the Hot Die Casting Machine

Installation site

A hot chamber die-casting machine mold is an important piece of equipment used to inject and shape molten metal materials.

To achieve efficient and accurate production, the die-casting process needs to be standardized, and mold installation is an indispensable part of it. This article will introduce the problem of how to install the mold for customers in detail.

Mold inspection

Before installing the mold, the mold needs to be inspected. It mainly checks whether the appearance of the mold is intact and whether the parts are running in a normal state. If a problem is found, it needs to be repaired or replaced promptly.

Mold preparation

The mold is composed of multiple parts, and the larger components need to be split first. Disassemble the outer mold, inner mold, fixed plate, movable plate, mold spotter, mold partner, and other parts, and prepare the tools and screws required for installation.

Before the mold parter is installed, it is necessary to confirm the opening and closing status of the mold parter. Clean the lower parts and apply the right amount of lubrication to the correct position. Then insert the correct guide pillars separately to separate the upper and lower parts.

Preparation of fixed plate

Place the fixed plate on the rack, and determine the accurate positioning of the upper and lower molds of the fixed plate in advance. Arrange the clamp according to the size of the outer mold and the inner mold, insert the fixing plate into the mold spotter frame, and fix the plate on the frame with screws at the same time.

Preparation of movable plate

Lubricating oil is applied to the movable plate of the upper mold of the die-casting machine to ensure the accurate positioning of the outer mold and the inner mold; The parter should also be coated with an appropriate amount of lubricating oil, and the upper and lower parters should be combined.

Moldholder placement

Position the shape of the mold spotter frame and fix it, then insert the movable plate into the mold spotter frame, and fix it on the frame with screws.

Outer mold and inner mold device

Apply an appropriate amount of lubricating oil on the mold spotter frame, and place the outer mold in the mold spotter frame with a hoisting tool to ensure that the position of the outer mold is accurate.

Then the inner mold is installed on the outer mold to ensure that the space between the inner mold and the outer mold is reasonably allocated.

Installation base

The main plant arranges the die-casting machine, the holding furnace, and the auxiliary devices supporting the hot chamber die-casting machine (referred to as the main engine) and some peripheral equipment required; When it comes to the die-casting unit, it is equipped with the peripheral equipment required by the automated production line required for the products to be produced.

Laying cables and pipes should be equipped for various equipment and devices. The main line cable and main pipeline after the receiving plant, except for the overhead crane and the lighting cable placed above the overhead crane track, laying off the rest of the cables and pipes should be buried underground with protection.

This is especially true for branch cables and pipes connected to the machine to avoid interference with the transportation or peripheral equipment of the overhead crane. The outlet interface locations of all cables and pipes related to the main engine and equipment shall meet the requirements of the instructions of the die-casting machine, device, and equipment.

The die-casting machine and its supporting equipment and devices (hereinafter referred to as the machine, the same as the die-casting unit) are arranged according to the requirements.

The area of the machine should not only be in accordance with the requirements of the equipment manual but also should leave sufficient leeway.

When there are many machines and they are to be arranged together, they should be arranged differently according to the span of the plant.

When the method of replenishing molten metal from the melting furnace to the holding furnace is to use automatic transportation, whether it is above or on the ground, it cannot be placed within the space of the main passage, so as to ensure the safety and unobstructed flow of the main passage. It can not interfere with the operation of the overhead crane and the operation space of lifting.

The height of the main plant: the height of the crane needs to be lifted (including the maximum lifting of the largest mold, the maximum parts of the machine or equipment) to determine the position of the track surface of the crane and the height above the crane is determined according to the requirements of the building. Generally, for die-casting machines with a clamping force of less than 1000 tons, the height of the track surface of the overhead crane is about 8.5 m, and the height of the track surface of the overhead crane should be higher.

Environmental protection treatment devices should also be set up in the main plant, as well as facilities to maintain a healthy and good working environment for the plant. Among them, the exhaust ventilation system is the most critical, and the building structure and roof structure of the plant above the overhead crane should be adapted and matched with the requirements of the selected exhaust ventilation system.

Transport of the machine

Installation of the machine

The hot chamber die-casting machine includes the following basic components: 1. base, 2. clamping unit, 3. injection unit, 4. injection assembly, 5. guard, 6. hydraulic system, 7. electrical equipment

Before disassembly, it should be determined that the die-casting machine is in a state of no voltage and not under pressure and hang a maintenance card. If you accidentally turn on the power to the die casting machine, it must be turned off immediately.

If you need to disassemble the injection cylinder, you must turn off the furnace power and reduce the furnace temperature to room temperature before it can be disassembled, to prevent personnel injury and high-temperature ignition.

When disassembling the nitrogen tank, the nitrogen in the nitrogen tank should be discharged to prevent accidents.

In the disassembly process, the oil pipe, and fixing screws should be removed in order and placed neatly, in case of slippery screws, regardless of seriousness, they should be replaced to prevent the next disassembly is difficult to disassemble.

When using the crane for lifting, attention should be paid to the load-bearing and fixing method of the lifting rope to prevent it from falling during lifting.

Installation

When installing, it should be installed in the opposite way of disassembly, from back to front.

After the installation is completed, it should be checked again, and then powered on to test and check whether there is any abnormal condition.

Clean up the mechanical body and the surrounding environment, remove the maintenance card, and notify the on-site production.

Cleaning-up the machine

If the die-casting machine needs to be shut down for a long time, the whole machine should be cleaned up, and a layer of anti-rust oil should be applied to the template, slide, steel belt, continuing column, piston rod, and other places that are easy to rust.

When dismantling the mold and hammer cooling water, stand on the side to prevent the high-temperature water vapor in the pipe from spraying out and hurting people.

It is strictly forbidden to flush the die-casting machine with water to avoid rust and an electrical short circuit of the equipment.

Only nitrogen is allowed to be filled in the accumulator, and it is strictly forbidden to fill oxygen or other gases into the accumulator to prevent explosion accidents. when disassembling the energy storage, the internal nitrogen must be vented.

Installation of casting push-off unit

One of the three major parts of die-casting peripheral automation equipment (pick-up machine, soup feeder, sprayer).

The die-casting picker is a mechanical equipment that realizes mechanical equipment that realizes mechanical equipment that picks the product from the mold and sends the product to the product safety area according to the ideal trajectory after the product is clamped from the mold through the mechanical connecting rod principle. It can be single-acted, or it can be connected with die-casting machines, sprayers, and soup feeders to form fully automatic production.

Adjustment of die-casting pick-up machine: Arm switch: At the axis below the arm rotating cylinder, the switch is forward, front standby, and backward from top to bottom.

Arm forward: the front switch of the arm is in the ON state, and the backward horizontal forward or clamping action can be continued, and the adjustment direction is to be observed from top to bottom to counterclockwise.

Front standby: When the front standby is selected, this arm advances to the standby position, and the two have the same effect, this switch rotates to the cam to adjust the arm in the automatic state ON, and the arm advances and stops, Wait for the die-casting machine to move forward to the forward limit after the clamping limit action, and the adjustment direction is counterclockwise.

Backward: This is the switch for the arm to retreat to the end, when the switch is ON, the die-casting machine can be closed, and the adjustment direction is clockwise The adjustment of the rotation angle of the gripper opens the shell of the gripper rotating cylinder, and the positioning screw is adjusted behind the rotating cylinder to make the clamping hand rotate back to the correct position.

The horizontal forward and backward distance adjustment: loosen the handle nut and rotate the tooth rod to make the moving distance meet the requirements of the mold When there is a special mold that exceeds the adjustment range, The base can be adjusted appropriately.

When removing the cooling water of the mold and hammer, stand on the side to prevent the high-temperature water vapor in the pipe from spraying out and injuring people.

All pipes cannot be used as ladders or pedal

It is strictly forbidden to use tools to knock on all parts of the machine at will during maintenance operations.

The parts and sheet metal dismantled during maintenance should be installed in time according to the original state, especially the safety door and the Corinth sheath.

Operators are not allowed to step on the sheet metal and corinth columns with their feet, so as not to damage the sheet metal and corinth columns or cause the risk of personal injury.

The operator is strictly forbidden from standing on the parting surface of the die-casting machine.

Cleaning-up the machine

Before transportation, ensure that the hot chamber die casting machine is thoroughly cleaned. Remove any debris, excess lubricants, or contaminants from the machine’s surfaces and components. Pay special attention to cleaning the screw thread of tie bars and the other moving parts of the machine. Apply the machine with lubricating oil after it is cleaned up.

Installation of casting push-off unit

A. Identify the designated location for the casting push-off unit on the die casting machine.

B. Align the push-off unit with the corresponding mounting points on the machine.

C. Securely fasten the push-off unit using the provided bolts or fasteners. Ensure that it is tightly attached and properly aligned with the machine’s mechanism.

Power supply connection

A. Connect the machine with the power supply line and junction panel. Moreover, the task of connecting the machine with all the wires must be performed by duly authorized professionals

B. According to the characteristics of the control unit, the voltage range of fluctuation must be limited to 10%, or else a voltage regulator should be installed to ensure that the electric loop can work normally.

The machine base and electric control cabinet must be grounded properly, which is very crucial to ensure that the machine can operate safely. It must be ensured that no accessory, wire, or element is naked and live electric or of insulation failure.

Connecting cooling water pipe and compressed air pipe.

A. Locate the designated inlet and outlet ports for the cooling water and compressed air on the machine.

B. Attach the cooling water pipe to the machine’s cooling water inlet and outlet ports. Ensure a secure connection using appropriate fittings or clamps.

C. Connect the compressed air pipe to the machine’s compressed air inlet and outlet ports. Again, ensure a secure connection using suitable fittings or clamps.

D. Confirm that the water and compressed air connections are tight and leak-free before proceeding.

All pipes cannot be used as a ladder or pedal.

It is essential to note that all pipes connected to the hot chamber die casting machine should not be used as ladders or pedals. They are not designed to bear weight or provide stability to operators. Under no circumstances should any tension force be applied to the pipes and pipe fittings.

Recharging oil

A. Identify the designated fuel tank or filler neck on the machine.

B. Ensure that the machine is switched off and that the oil temperature is within acceptable limits.

C. Remove the air filter cover at the rear of the machine base and pour in 250 liters of clean, defoamed hydraulic oil.

D. Slowly pour the oil into the tank, filling it to the upper limit of the oil level gauge for the first time.

Securely replace the tank cap or access panel to prevent oil leakage.

F. The oil level will drop after the machine is running, when filling the oil again, it should be injected until the middle limit of the oil level gauge.

Note: The use of ordinary hydraulic oil is strictly prohibited to effectively prevent the burning of hydraulic oil.

It is recommended that HIRI136 few-foam antiflaming hydraulic oil(water-ethylene glycol) be used. It is an excellent hydraulic transmission medium, which is characteristic of sound flame resistance, low modifiability, lubrification, defoaming property, and antirust property. Under the conditions of high temperature, high pressure, and nearing fire source, it has an excellent performance of flame resistance. Under the condition of cold weather, it has an excellent performance of fluidity at low temperatures. Its related technical specifications have reached the advanced standard of the products of the same kind in the world. In particular, its performance in lubrification and defoaming property is in the lead.

Precautions

Signal connection line: During equipment maintenance, pay special attention to the signal connection lines and transfer relays between devices to prevent mechanical failures caused by signal errors.

Lock the mold in place: During the lifting process, make sure that the mold has been locked in place to avoid accidents during transportation or installation.

The die closing unit of the hot chamber die casting machine adopts the double toggle connecting rod expanding force unit, ensuring a prompt die opening and die closing action and excellent die closing precision and stability. The thickness of the die casting moulds is adjustable. At the same time, the machine uses the oil motor-driven wheel transmission unit with special emphasis on ease of operation and ensuring an accurate depth of parallelism between the moving platen and the fixed platen.
