What is Polyamide (PA)?

Types of PA

Drying:

Nylon materials easily absorb moisture, so they must be dried before injection molding. It is usually necessary to dry in a dryer at 80-120°C for 3-6 hours to reduce the moisture content to less than 0.2%.

Barrel temperature:

Nylon has a wide melting point range, and the barrel temperature is usually set between 220-300°C, depending on the type of nylon and the color of the product. The barrel temperature needs to be gradually increased from the feeding area to the nozzle.

Mold temperature:

The mold temperature is usually set at 70-120°C to ensure uniform cooling of plastic parts and reduce internal stress. High mold temperature helps improve the appearance quality of the product and reduces bubbles and warping.

Injection pressure:

usually between 75 and 125 MPa (depending on PA material type and product design)

Injection speed:

high (slightly lower for reinforced grades of PA materials). Fast injection helps reduce material degradation, but too fast a speed may cause excessive shear force, affecting the appearance and performance of the product.
